EYELASH EXTENSION

HOW LONG DO LASH EXTENSIONS LAST

Our lash extensions will last on your lashes for the duration of the growth cycle of your own eyelashes. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, refills should only be required every 2 to 4 weeks.

ARE LASH EXTENSIONS BAD FOR YOUR EYES?

At Facewerx, our lash extension experts will protect your eyes and skin to ensure that they are safe from coming in contact with debris and adhesive. Synthetic eyelashes adhere about 1mm away from your skin.

WILL LASH EXTENSIONS RUIN YOUR NATURAL LASHES?

As long as you do not pick them off or remove them yourselves, your natural lashes will not be harmed. We always recommend having your lashes professionally removed instead of trying to remove them at home.

CAN I USE MASCARA ON MY LASH EXTENSIONS?

No! Any waterproof mascara or oil based mascara will dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your lash extensions.

IF I HAVE VERY BLONDE OR RED LASHES, WILL I HAVE TO TINT MY LASHES BEFORE I GET LASH EXTENSIONS?

No, when the extensions are applied, they mask the color of your natural lash. If you do not want to use mascara on your bottom lashes, you can have them tinted separately so that they match the color of your extensions. For more information on lash tinting, click here.

CAN I WASH MY FACE, SWIM, SHOWER, EXERCISE OR VISIT A SPA WITH LASH EXTENSIONS?

We do ask you to minimize the chance of wetting the extensions for the first 48 hours of wear, which includes washing your face. After that 48-hour period, the adhesive used to apply your eyelash extensions is secure enough to allow you to get right back to your routine. However, we recommend that you keep away from prolonged contact with steam such as in saunas. In addition, certain facials are not recommended since they can begin to loosen the bond.

CAN I REMOVE MY LASH EXTENSIONS MYSELF?

We don't recommend it but yes, you can. The most common method is using coconut oil or olive oil to break down the lash adhesive. That being said, it is always best to have your lashes removed by a professional to avoid any damage to your natural lashes. Often, the oils used at home do not do a sufficient job of breaking down the adhesive and you can risk pulling out your own lashes in the process which can cause permanent damage.

We do offer a service to have the extensions removed involving a short thirty-minute appointment in which we apply a gel remover. The gel remover is applied on top of the extensions without touching the skin and allowed to sit for 10 minutes. Once the adhesive is dissolved the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.

I HAVE VERY SENSITIVE SKIN, WILL I HAVE A BAD REACTION TO YOUR PRODUCTS?

If you have any allergies or sensitivities, I will preform an allergy patch test prior to service to ensure that your products do not cause a reaction. We will place a small amount of the products to be applied during your service onto your wrist for 5 minutes while we do our consultation.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREPARE FOR MY LASH APPOINTMENT?

To remove any eye makeup, use an oil-free makeup remover to cleanse your lashes prior to the appointment as well to remove any leftover mascara. Lashes should not be permed or manually curled at the time of appointment.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO APPLY LASH EXTENSIONS AND WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?

The application process for lash extensions normally takes about 90-120 minutes for a full set of lashes and 45-60 minutes for a refill. You will lay comfortably on a massage table with your eyes closed while relaxing ambient music is played in the background. During application, your lower lashes will be covered and the extensions will be applied only to your upper lashes one at a time.

POST-APPOINTMENT: CARING FOR YOUR LASHES

  • Avoid getting lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours

  • Avoid hot steam or sauna

  • Do not perm eyelashes or manually curl.

  • Do not use any oil based products near your lashes as it will weaken the adhesive of the lashes.

  • Brush with a clean mascara wand daily but use NO mascara.

  • TIP: Try washing your lashes with water in the morning and gently brushing the top side of the extensions with a finger placed beneath. If too much tugging is noticed, a quick stop at our Eagle, Idaho lash extension studio may be necessary to help separate these extensions.

I have never had anything done to my eyes or brows but now that I am older, both were almost gone and as you saw, I needed help. There are lots of options for where to get brow and lash extensions in Eagle and I am so happy I went to see you, Rachel! What a fun and relaxing experience. And, all my friends have told me I look 20 years younger! I will see you soon for my fill.
