LASH LIFT

While it is most common for clients to receive a lash lift & tint at the same time, they are available as separate treatments. Below is information on the 'lash lift' portion of a lash lift and tint.

WHAT IS A LASH LIFT?

The lash lift is a treatment that makes your natural lashes look longer, fuller and denser by applying a mix of chemicals that curls them upwards, giving your natural lashes a new shape. The most popular version of the treatment involves both a lash lift and tint, so the hairs are also colored into a darker shade.

WHO IS AN EYELASH LIFT FOR?

Many people opt for this treatment because they want a more natural, yet enhanced look. The eyelash lift is a perfect solution for shortening your morning routine, because your lashes will look so good you won’t need any extra eye makeup.

It’s a more practical solution than lash extensions, because it requires no maintenance, just a few simple rules on the first day, and a slight adjustment to your skincare routine.

It works on anyone’s lashes, no matter their length or color, but the best results are achieved on clients with long straight lashes. By curling the lashes upwards, the eye is opened up and refreshed, while adding lash tint makes use of even the thinnest lashes in the lash line, densifying it and giving it natural volume.

IS AN EYELASH LIFT PAINFUL?

Not even in the least, unless you are uncomfortable with keeping still and having your eyes closed for up to 30 minutes!

HOW LONG DOES AN EYELASH LIFT LAST?

Like other lash treatments, it will last last as long as your lash growth cycle – 6-8 weeks.

The curl on your lashes will hold until they fall out. Not all of the lashes will be in the same phase of the growth cycle when they are curled, so some of them will fall out sooner than others. As more and more hairs fall out, the curl will gradually relax. Your lashes will regain their natural shape after 6-8 weeks, at which point you can get a fresh lash lift!

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A LASH LIFT TREATMENT?

  • Don’t wear makeup to the appointment

  • Try not to wear waterproof mascara for a week before the treatment, because your eyes need to be perfectly clean and without any traces of mascara

  • Shower beforehand – you shouldn’t get your lashes wet for 24 hours after the procedure, so showering might be impractical

  • If you wear contact lenses, take them off and wear glasses instead

HOW IS A LASH LIFT PERFORMED?

The eyelash lift treatment is a simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes and involves the following steps:

Step 1 – Consults and Cleaning

I will consult with you, discuss whether you’re prone to allergies, and discuss the differences between a softer curl, and a more dramatic look and how that aligns with your lifestyle and face shape. I will then carefully clean your eye area as your lashes need to be completely free of any makeup, skincare products, and sebum, so even if you show up for the appointment without eye makeup, I will still clean your lashes. The objective is to remove any residues of any product on your lashes that might prevent the chemicals from working evenly and properly.

Step 2 – Placing Pads onto Eyelids

Protective pads are placed on your lower eyelids. I will ask you to close your eyes, and you’ll have to keep them closed until the procedure is over. I will then place a rod-shaped silicone pad onto the upper eyelids above the lash line, using a gentle adhesive. The size of the rod will determine the intensity of the final curl.

Step 3 – Lashes Glued onto the Rod

Using a new and sterile mascara wand, I will brush your lashes upward and glue them onto the silicon rod.

Step 4 – Applying the Chemicals

A high quality chemical is applied which will soften and straighten your lashes to make them more elastic. This will allow them to be molded into the desired shape. Then, using a special lash brush, I will cover the hairs with a coat of the perming solution which will remain for about 10 minutes.

Step 5 – Setting

After 10 minutes, I will remove the perming solution and apply a neutralizing solution which will set your lashes into the desired shape. The solution is left on for about 10 minutes.

Step 6 – Cleaning Off the Chemicals

When the 10 minutes are up, I will clean off the solution and remove the silicone pads. You can then open your eyes and see the new you!

Some people also choose to have a tint applied during the lift process. Instead of stopping at step 6, I clean the solution and then add the tint which sits for 10 minutes. This is called a lift and tint and more information on the tinting process can be found here

WHAT DOES THE LASH LIFT AFTERCARE ENTAIL?

Lash lift aftercare is not complicated nor very restrictive. For the first 24 hours, you will need to limit some activities but after that, you can continue with your normal daily routine.

These are the tips you need to follow:

  • Don’t wear mascara for 24 hours after the treatment and avoid using waterproof mascara altogether

  • Don’t get your lashes wet. Don’t shower for 24 hours (or if you really have to, make it quick).

  • Avoid steamy rooms, such as saunas.

  • Don’t apply any products on your lashes during that period

  • Don’t touch your lashes

  • Brush through your lashes from time to time

  • Do not use a lash curler as it can damage the way your lashes have hardened.

  • The only thing to avoid in the first 20 days are oil-based products. I will discuss this with you during your appointment.

Treatment can be repeated after 6 weeks!

I have never had anything done to my eyes or brows but now that I am older, both were almost gone and as you saw, I needed help. There are lots of options for where to get brow and lash extensions in Eagle and I am so happy I went to see you, Rachel! What a fun and relaxing experience. And, all my friends have told me I look 20 years younger! I will see you soon for my fill.
